Upon completion of the Ed.D. in Educational Administration and Supervision and upon successful completion of the School Leaders Licensure Assessment (SLLA), students will be eligible to apply for licensure in Administration and Supervision Pre-K -12 as outlined in Part VI, Licensure Regulations Governing Support Personnel, Section 8 VAC 20-21-580 of the Virginia Licensure Regulations for School Personnel (1998). Students also will be candidates for the list of eligible division superintendents and the renewable Superintendent License as outlined in Part VI, Licensure Regulations Governing Support Personnel, Section 8 VAC 20-21-590 of the Virginia Licensure Regulations for School Personnel (1998). Students must seek advisement early in their programs to assure that the licensure requirements are understood.
When all requirements for the doctoral program have been completed and approved by the student's dissertation committee, the Department Chair, Dean of the College of Education, and the Dean of the College of Graduate Studies, the student will be eligible for graduation. Caps and gowns will be rented or purchased through the university bookstore. Candidates for graduation must purchase the hood.
